Set your seven
Each player places seven Heroes face-down, one in each of seven Battle Zones, in whatever order they choose.
Step 2
Flip and compare
Zones are revealed one at a time. The higher Power wins the battle and takes a trophy. Win four of the seven and you win the game.
Step 3
Add the strategy
Substitution Mode adds Hot Dogs and a Bench; Playmaker Mode adds a 30-card Playbook of Plays that swing a battle. Learn in Rookie Mode, grow into Playmaker.
How rarity works
The weapon is the rarity
Every Hero carries a weapon type, and the weapon is the rarity ladder — from the Brawl and Steel commons that build every deck up to the Superfoil one-of-one. Battlefoils are colour-matched to their weapon, and Inspired Ink autographs are always signed on the card.

How do you play Bo Jackson Battle Arena?

What are the rarest Bo Jackson Battle Arena cards?
Rarity follows the weapon type. Brawl and Steel are the commons, Fire and Ice are rare, Glow is ultra rare, Hex is elite, Gum is a secret rare and Super is the Superfoil one-of-one. Pink Battlefoils are Secret one-of-ones, and Inspired Ink autos are numbered to 50 (Fire, Ice), 25 (Glow) and 10 (Hex).
When does the Mahomes Set come out?
The 2026 Update Edition — the Mahomes Set, with Patrick Mahomes as Merlomes — is slated for October 2026. The retail presale opens October 1, and the hobby box is $395.
How much are Bo Jackson Battle Arena cards worth?
It depends on the weapon rung and the insert more than the player. Commons of the biggest names trade for a few dollars, Glow Battlefoils run tens of dollars, Hex cards run into the hundreds, and the top one-of-ones have sold for five figures — a Ken Griffey Jr. "The Kid" Superfoil auto sold for $73,200.
